Breckenridge stays busy all summer long with fun festivals and events celebrating biking, beer and everything in between. Whether you are an art lover, a history buff or simply looking for a unique weekend activity, Breckenridge is your place for summer fun. Plan your next mountian vacation around any of these amazing events and festivals coming this summer.

Wave: Light + Water + Sound
June 2 - 5, 2016

New to Breckenridge this year, this festival of light, water and sound will dazzle all your senses as you wander through Blue River Plaza and the Breckenridge Creative Arts district. Check out the free outdoor and indoor art instillations or attend one of the amazing shows featured at this year’s festival. See aerial acrobats twirl and spin amidst a stunning light display or enjoy a short film on the lawn of the Breckenridge Creative Arts District. There will even be educational events such as artists’ talks and workshops for those who wish to understand the creation process and the inspiration behind each piece. The Wave: Light + Water + Sound Arts Festival will be the perfect start to the summer season in Breckenridge.

Gold Panning Championships
June 17 - 19, 2016

Relive the excitement of the Colorado gold rush in the heart of Breckenridge at the 2016 Gold Panning Championships. Gold prospectors from across the country take over Blue River Plaza for three days to compete for the title of National Gold Panning Champion. Try your hand at gold panning at one of the many free demonstrations and learn about different gold panning techniques and tricks. This event is unique to Breckenridge, and perfect for families and small children.

Breck Bike Week
June 22 - 26, 2016

From the passionate peddler to the casual cruiser, Breck Bike Week is the place to help discover everything there is to love about biking. Demos, clinics and guided tours are all a part of this week long celebration of time spent on two wheels. Visit the Bicycle Village and check out the latest components from brands like Yeti, Shimano, Trek and Scott. Hone your skills and explore some of Breckenridge’s amazing trails at one of the many a mountain bike skills clinics featured throughout the week. View the full schedule for Breckenridge Bike Week.

Celebrate Independence Day amongst one of America’s most iconic landmarks, the Rocky Mountains. Watch the 4th of July parade down historic Main Street or hit the trail with the 10k trail run or Firecracker 50 bike race. Enjoy a delicious BBQ dinner on the Spencer’s patio and stick around to watch the amazing fireworks display put on by the Town of Breckenridge. Complete with a public arts festival, kids and family activities and plenty of live music, 4th of July in Breckenridge is the best place to celebrate America’s independence.

Brews and views abound at this year’s Breckenridge Summer Beer Festival. 60+ breweries will be taking over the base of peak nine to serve unlimited tastings of their best beers. As you sample your way through IPAs, Ambers, Lagers and more, you can listen to any of the three bands performing throughout the event. Compliment your brews with any of the amazing food vendors in attendance or splurge and enjoy your lunch in the VIP tent. Special lodging packages will be announced soon, so stay tuned!

Breckenridge International Arts Festival
August 12 - 21, 2016

A celebration of adventure, play and creativity, the Breckenridge International Arts Festival (or BIFA) brings together inspiring artists and acts from around the world. Featuring indoor, outdoor, free and ticketed events, BIFA is the ultimate destination for art and culture lovers. The inaugural festival in 2015 brought everything from “An evening with Ira Glass”, a presentation from the famed NPR host and journalist too the high flying, gravity defying modern dance and acrobatic group, Diavolo. The 2016 schedule has yet to be announced so check back for more information coming soon. Visit the festival website.
