Have some skateboard fans in your life? Check out Breckenridge’s rebuilt community Skate Park, located on the north side of the Breckenridge Recreation Center. Originally built in 1999, the town park was professionally redesigned in late 2014 to include an 11-foot bowl, a beginner bowl and numerous street features. The park is free and open to youth and adults during daylight hours seasonally as weather permits.
For the slightly older kids, a historic tour by the might be the perfect fit. Have fun taking a guided tour around town and learning about the amazing history surrounding us. Did you know that Breckenridge miners uncovered the largest piece of crystallized wire gold ever found in Colorado? It weighed 13.5 pounds and got the nickname Tom’s Baby from miner Tom Groves who carried his find wrapped like a baby.
The offers concerts for the entire family as part of its annual Summer Festival, featuring the BMF Orchestra in programs designed especially with the young listener in mind. Last year, families enjoyed the Magical Music of Disney, accompanied by video projections and Beethoven Lives Upstairs, a free performance with actors, history, music and fun.

The, a historic mining site, offers underground mine tours, gold panning, a 55-foot ore chute slide and several exhibits including equipment used when the mine was in operation. How often do you get the chance to explore what a real Colorado miner saw, heard and felt? This is your chance to time travel.
Adventurous kids love the thrill of whitewater rafting. Breckenridge sits within easy distance of several rivers, each of which offers different experiences and levels of difficulty. Choose from mellow, full-day float trips to high-adrenaline trips during high water season. If you’re ready to start planning a raft trip, check out these tips for planning a great whitewater outing.
Breckenridge’s play spaces are sure to excite. Whether you’ve got little ones eager to run or you’re seeking an outdoor setting for a casual picnic, there are plenty of options. We love the new Kingdom Park Playground for those with energy to burn. Carter Park is great for picnics and pups. And the Main Street Parks (Prospector Park and Blue River Plaza) make excellent shopping breaks.
