The Budweiser International Snow Sculpture Championships in Breckenridge’s Riverwalk Center is truly a sight to see. Spend the week watching artists from around the world transform ten foot tall, twenty-ton blocks of snow into beautiful and amazing works of art. Watch, talk with the artists and commune in the artistic glow that is downtown Breckenridge this week. These amazing pieces of art only last for a couple of weeks so book your trip to Breckenridge early to guarantee you will not miss out.
January 24 – 28, 2017 Sculpting Week – Sculpting begins at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24th with a gun shot start and sculpting ends on Saturday, January 28 at 9:00 a.m. The awards ceremony will be on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 27th is one of the best times to visit. Artists are preparing to stay up all night to do detail work and the atmosphere is celebratory. Why not spend a night or two and catch the whole weekend? You won’t regret seeing the sculptures evolve and witnessing the awards given out.
– (Please note that visitors are welcome to the event anytime from January 24 to February 5). During viewing week, the artists are done sculpting but the sculptures are here for your viewing pleasure. Weather permitting the snow sculptures will stay up until the night of Sunday, February 5, 2017 until approx. 7pm and then they will disappear under the darkness of night- just as magically as they appeared!
