Breckenridge Art Gallery

The Breckenridge Arts District is the region’s newest epicenter of creativity, bringing together studios, galleries, performance spaces, historic landmarks, public art, restaurants, cafes, and other creative businesses that animate and populate a vibrant cultural corridor in downtown Breckenridge.

The district’s core attraction is a multi-facility arts campus that hosts workshops, exhibits, tours, artists-in-residence, and a variety of other activities for locals and visitors alike. With a focus on educational and experiential enrichment, programs include classes in several media such as textiles, ceramics, metalwork, painting, and more. Complete with decorative plazas and sculpture gardens, the Arts District campus serves as a community gathering place and a catalyst for creative expression in Breckenridge.

The one-acre campus of restored historic structures includes the following studios and creative spaces:

  • Fuqua Livery Stable (painting, drawing, beading, and one studio to rent to local artists)
  • Quandary Antiques Cabin (children’s workshops)
  • J.R. Hodges Tin Shop (live/work for guest/visiting artists)
  • Randall Barn (printmaking and textiles, and one studio to rent to local artists)
  • Robert Whyte House (live/work studio for guest/visiting artists)
  • Burro Barn (public restrooms)
  • Hot Shop (metalsmithing, glasswork, and encaustic painting)
  • Ceramic Studio (including one studio to rent to local artists)
  • Little Red Shed (gas kiln and storage for kiln yard)
  • Kiln Yard (pitfiring, woodfiring, and raku)
  • Ridge Street Arts Square (special events)

Other cultural venues within the greater Arts District include:

  • Breckenridge Theater is an intimate 137-seat theater used for a variety of performances and houses an art gallery in its lobby. The facility’s resident company is the Breckenridge Backstage Theatre, which primarily presents community-based theatrical productions.
  • Old Masonic Hall is a multi-purpose arts facility that houses visual, performing and healing arts classes and workshops, exhibition spaces and administrative offices.
  • Riverwalk Center is a 750-seat heated indoor performance venue. The space is flexible with pitched removable seating and glass doors that open onto a lawn adjacent to the Blue River. The facility’s resident companies are the National Repertory Orchestra and the Breckenridge Music Festival.
