We’re right in the thick of ski season and we at SellMyTimeshareNow.com are serving up a piping hot debate over our first ski destination matchup. It’s a classic East Coast vs. West Coast head-to-head between Breckenridge, Colorado’s Grand Timber Lodge and Killington, Vermont’s North Star Vacation Club.
We compared the two ski destinations and specific resorts based on everything travelers want to know about for their ski vacations. Everything from the mountains to the nearby attractions to the resort amenities and even the food! We’ve done the research and are pleased to announce our findings.
The first and most obvious difference between Grand Timber Lodge and North Star Vacation Club is their locations. The resorts are located in Breckenridge, Colorado and Killington, Vermont. Grand Timber Lodge Breckenridge sits at the base of the 14, 000 foot Rocky Mountains while North Star Vacation Club Killington is in a quaint New England town right in the center of the Green Mountain State. If you’re not within driving distance of these amazing getaways, the closest airport to North Star Vacation Club is 85 miles away at Burlington International Airport, while the closest airport to Breckenridge is Denver International Airport located 95 miles away.
Positioned between Peak 8 and Peak 9 of the award-winning Breckenridge Ski Resort, Grand Timber Lodge is one of the best ski in/ski out resorts in the country. Guests can be, quite literally, steps away from the mountain, walking no more than 75 yards to their skis and snowboards. Breckenridge Mountain features 187 trails, 34 total lifts, and has a summit elevation of almost 13, 000 feet, giving you an unrivaled view over the breathtaking Colorado plains. With over 2, 900 acres of ski terrain, you’ve got plenty of ground to cover when the fresh powder falls.
While Killington Ski Resort has a more intimate skiable area at 752 acres, it features up to 140 trails at a summit elevation of about 4, 200 feet. The mountain has 22 lifts, a terrain park, snow tubing trails, snowshoe trails and five terrain parks. North Star Vacation Club is a short eight minute drive or eighteen minute bus ride from the Killington Ski Area.
