Just like the golden nuggets in them thar hills, there are a handful of restaurants in Breckenridge that are hidden away and require a bit of digging online to unearth their names, menus and sometimes even some searching to find their front doors.

Le Petit Paris | 161 East Adams Avenue

If you’re craving a taste of Paris right in the heart of the Rockies, Le Petit Paris will have you saying c’est magnifique! As the first French-American restaurant in Breck, the menu includes classics like Frog legs, escargots, Beef Bourguignon and desserts like profiteroles and creme brulee. The restaurant is only open for dinner (Tuesdays through Saturdays) and has very limited seating, so reservations are highly recommended especially for peak periods and holidays.

Le Petit Paris is located about a half block from Main Street and tucked into the Post Office building on the Adams Street side.

Belle V | 500 S. Main Street (La Cima Mall)

A new entry to the Breck dining scene, Belle V opened in 2016 by husband and wife team – Stephane and Jaci Ohayon – who plan to offer small plates of traditional French food “without the fuss.” Stephane grew up in the South of France and the menu reflects his training as a chef and his French upbringing with Ratatouille, Boeuf Bourguignon, Coquille Saint Jacques, along with pate, escargots and foie gras.

Belle V is located in La Cima Mall, next to Cecelia’s bar.

Cool River Cafe | 325 South Main Street

There’s no shortage of coffee shops on Main Street in Breckenridge. Cool River Cafe has always been more tucked away than most (The Crown, Cabin Coffee and Cuppa Joe also qualify as hidden gems in the coffee category). Cool River Cafe is more than just coffee. With an updated menu and new management, this coffee house and bakery made our list of out-of-the-way gems in Breck. Check out their home-made pastries and treats. They pair perfectly with the Caramel Flan latte.

Cool River Cafe is located behind the Swiss Haven Restaurant, tucked into the side of the building.

Duggan’s Deli | 111 Ski Hill Road

Claiming they have “the best sandwich in the high country, ” Duggan’s Deli is on the radar for most locals even though it’s hard to find. Located right behind the Motherloaded Tavern and beneath the Breckenridge Tourism’s office, order up a Hot Pastrami or Classic Italian and you won’t be disappointed. Try “The Boss” – ham, roast beef and honey maple turkey with provolone, cheddar, garlic aeoli on French bread.

Mom’s Baking Co | 100 N. Main Street Suite 214 (the entrance is on Lincoln Ave.)

If you’re craving something sweet, make a stop in to . The small and intimate cafe opened for the 2016/2017 ski season and features European breakfast and lunch specialities created by the former pastry chef at Modis. Make sure you enter from Lincoln Avenue. And don’t forget to get a pastry to go.

The Cheese Shop of Breckenridge | 505 South Main Street, Suite B2-A

Hidden away in Main Street Station on the south end of town, The Cheese Shop is a welcome addition to Breck’s foodie scene. The husband-wife owners have 12-plus years in the specialty foods industry and are self-described cheesemongers. Stop by to sample the best of hand-crafted American products and learn more about Europe’s finest meats and cheeses. The sandwiches are made fresh in the store and are delicious – and the price reflects the high quality!

Ridge Street Kitchen | 216 South Main Street

Even though Ridge Street Kitchen is located on Main Street, it’s easy to walk right by and miss it. Look down and you’ll see this little gem that always features an “in the case” special. Owned by a husband, wife duo who are both chefs, the food is mouth-watering delicious whether you stop by the kitchen on Main Street, place a catering order or arrange for their private chef services.
