Ski season is fun in the daytime, but the fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down. When visiting Lodge by The Blue this winter, let your night owl out and enjoy some nighttime adventure.
From skating to torchlight parades, Breck has some interesting ways to light up your nights this holiday season.
Disco Ball Skate
Ice skate under the magical light of the disco ball at the on select Friday nights. Disco Ball Skate goes from 7:30-9 p.m. or 6:30-8 p.m. Check the Arena for information.
Breckenridge Ski & Snowboard School carries torches from the top of Peak 9, down American to the Village in the New Year’s Eve torchlight parade. Grab some drinks at the Maggie or the Coppertop and catch a great view of the skiers and riders illuminating the mountain. Parade is visible from anywhere that has views of Peak 9. Following the parade (weather permitting) is the fireworks display which starts at 9 p.m.
Savvy snow lovers pay homage to Ullr, the Norse god of winter, and Breckenridge contributes to the festivities with the annual Ullr Fest (this year January 11-14). Among multiple events is the Ullr Parade on January 12, which starts at 4 p.m., followed by Ullr bonfire where many residents bring and burn their Christmas trees.
Nothing is more festive than a stroll through Downtown Breckenridge. When lit up for the holidays, it’s like visiting a fairy tale Christmas town. Do some shopping or just stroll the streets and enjoy a drink or a bite to eat.
